Core Outcomes

  • Secure on-premises or private cloud storage for media content workflows.
  • Scalable nearline and archive file or object storage from 100TB to hundreds of PB.
  • A proven solution that performs without the cost and complexities of over-spec'd alternatives.
  • Cloud workflows for backup, archive, recovery, distribution and collaboration.
  • Managed responsibility from 33mega.cloud rather than a fragmented supplier chain.

Access

S3-compatible object storage is standard. Other access methods are optional and depend on the selected configuration.

  • REST-style object access for wider system integration where required.
  • Optional POSIX-style file workflows.
  • Optional SMB/CIFS and NFS access.
  • Other specialist access patterns can be discussed where commercially packaged.

Media Workflow Support

  • Small-file, frame-based and graphics workflows.
  • Large media-file workflows, including long-form and high-resolution video.
  • Nearline and archive storage for media content, creative assets and backups.
  • Client application categories including data movers, workflow orchestrators, transcoders and asset managers.

Security And Resilience

Mega.Vault is a security-hardened platform. Subject to requirements, available capabilities can include:

  • Hardened appliance build, TLS-secured access and encrypted object storage options.
  • User and access policy controls, identity integration, MFA and audit logging.
  • Snapshots, versioning, protected retention and ransomware resilience options.
  • Replication, erasure coding, multi-site workflows and optional multi-node failover.

Deployment Shape

Mega.Vault is typically installed on-premises or in a private cloud. Appliance shapes can include a single appliance, clustered appliance, three-node high-availability deployment, expandable node packs and private cloud deployment.

Roadmap Note

Metadata extraction and media search are roadmap items and are not positioned as current launch capabilities.
